Self-billing for events, entertainment & performers

Promoters, venues and agencies agree the fees and hold the booking data — so self-billing lets you invoice each performer, act or crew member for their booking.

Why self-billing works for events, entertainment & performers

How it works

Under a self-billing agreement, the promoter or agency prepares the invoice from the agreed fee, applies VAT where due, sends a copy and pays.

VAT & compliance

Standard UK VAT rules apply — add the performer’s VAT where they are VAT-registered, and none where they are not. Many individual performers are not VAT-registered; Apex Billing records each one’s status so VAT is only added when due.

This is general information, not tax advice — confirm your own position with your accountant or HMRC.
